Life and all it's glory
This morning at breakfast, I was having a great conversation with some friends about life and the happenings in our world. What I noticed is the statements from one of my friends was not something that I have heard or seen. It was a little slanted (in my opinion based on other sources), but the conversation continued. We then started asking questions as to why things were not done or handled a certain way, to solutions of how things should go. These comments include politics, work, laws, families, etc. It was a great conversation.
The rest of my day I listened to financial advice from Dave Ramsey (LOVE) https://www.daveramsey.com/ as well as political and or motivational videos while I was working. I tend to listen with an open heart and head so I can get all views. WHY? So I can make educated and researched decisions. Not based on emotions. Am I always right? Absolutely not! But I can say that I am aware of things that are being said in various views for a better understanding. At least I hope so.
I am reading several books and I am always looking for ways to improve who I am as a business owner, mentor, coach, mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother, etc. I love to read and learn new thought processes to help me grow. In a conversation with a co-worker yesterday, we talked about perfectionism and I was able to share with her a book I am reading, "Finish.. Give yourself the Gift of Done" by Jon Acuff https://acuff.me/
Great book to help me realize that perfectionism is the enemy to accomplishing my goals AND I can bomb at one thing (for a little while) so that I can Finish something I really want.
Do you have a problem with perfectionism? No need to answer me, but it is something to reflect upon. I know there are many AHA moments and I LOVE those moments in my life. How do you spend your day? Do you just live it on cruise control or do you live it driving it in the direction you want it to go? When will you take control of your life? When will you stop allowing life to control you? I see so many of my friends that spend time "out of control" and they are miserable. Having a plan and having a direction is a great way to have control over your future. I used to live my life on a whim A LOT, but recently I have found that I actually have more time to do what I want and have fun since I plan my day.
I have an amazing life and business coach and se can be found on Facebook @dlpugh3. She works with many people who are wanting to get more out of their life. She is a great accountability partner as well as an awesome friend. If you have ever thought about finding someone to help get your focus, she is AMAZING! Donna Pugh is GREAT!
