Living and working
Today, I was listening to the Dave Ramsey Show and it was an episode from February (I have some catching up to do). But it was with Dr. Deloney and Ken Coleman talking about living, working and contributing. Ken discussed that most of us have a philosophy of working to live. We work a job so we can live our life. Other people live to work. Or Live to contribute. Which one sounds the most positive? Live to contribute for me! That means we do what we do for a living because we can contribute to peoples lives. We have the ability to work and enjoy it for the benefit of helping others. Do you have that kind of job? Career? Do you enjoy what you do? Does it give you fulfillment? If you answer is no, why do you stay? What makes you not look for something new?
I have many different interests and they each bring me joy in some fashion. Working with my spouse and my son allows me the opportunity to grow a business man out of my son. Watching him grow is so much fun! He is learning how to work with others and the best business practices.
My Mary Kay business gives me the opportunity to work with women to create the flexibility and life they want for THEIR families. AND earn money doing it.
I also have the privilege of working with a cheer and dance team at a local school. Molding and watching these young ladies into leaders is my main aspiration. PLUS watching them grow in their skills and abilities.
What are you doing in your life to add value to your life, your families lives, and other peoples lives? I'd love to know what you are doing! If you'd like more information about what I do I'd love to chat. Let me know!
Live your life to the fullest!
