End of school year
WOW, it is so hard to believe we are down to the last month of the school year. Time sure has flown. I know many parents are sad as they have students graduating and moving to their future life goals. That usually means moving away or moving out from the household. I have had those events happen a couple of times and it is sad, but rest assured, you will survive, they will survive and once you have that peace, you will LOVE it!.
We do need to keep in mind that we do not want to go into debt or cause themselves to go into debt. We need to encourage our young adults to research and apply for EVERY scholarship available. Maybe work during school too. Student Loans are a no no. I had them. I have them and unfortunately so do my children. If I knew the principles I have been learning recently, I may have made different choices with debt. @DaveRamsey discusses a "Borrowed Future" video that would shock us all about the Student Loan program. I am wanting to see this so I can make sure my grandchildren do not go down this same path that I or their parents went down. The thoughts we have about debt, credit scores, buying homes, etc. are a falsehood that we need to fix/adjust. I have really enjoyed getting the information to get out of debt. I want EVERYONE to enjoy it too (even though it can be hard and a lot of work).
One of the things I do to help pay off debt is to do a side gig. Many people have more than one (I guess I have several). My main side gig is my Mary Kay business. I LOVE this business because it is VERY flexible. It allows me the opportunity to look good for half the price and make one of the largest profits from a direct selling business. Mary Kay has allowed me to still do things I LOVE, like coaching cheer and dance teams. Also, I help a company with cheer and dance tryout judges for schools and programs that hire us. AND another side gig I took on 24 years ago was working for a company as a camp manager during summer camps and competitions.
So what I have learned over the last several years is that there is no quick fix to an income/debt problem. I also realized that all money earned if done legally and morally right DOES take work. There is an effort. You have to make sure that you put in the effort and work if you want to make money. No job is secure unless it is you working for you. You make the effort, you earn the money, you become debt free. What are you willing to do to make it your life fruitful?
