Perspective
Today, I was thinking about a post from one of my friends. I LOVE her, but I think the perspective may be off. I believe that about a few things that have happened with the Supreme Court rulings. What do I mean? Well, when we are not clear OR trying to make a point, we tend to skew things to make a point. Problem with this is that it tends to divide people.
The affirmative action issue, that was brought about by Asian Americans, was put in place when there was segregation and coming our of the segregation when we NEEDED to implement affirmative action, so that ALL people could get jobs, get an education, etc. no matter who they are. I lived with the lifting of segregation in schools and how they bused kids into "white" schools for inclusion. We have not lived that way in a very long time. We no longer need affirmative action since we, as the melting pot, have so much integration within races/nationalities. There is NO ONE being left out of getting an education, getting a good job, etc. in todays world. Now, are there still racists? YES, in all nationalities and races. People stick to their kinds as they can commiserate with each other. They feel that they all get treated the same (generally).
The rights of people to decide how they run their business was a win for freedom, NOT a decline for the LGBTQ community. NO ONE should be forced to do, think or feel a certain way. I am not a proponent for violence or segregation of this community, but it should be up to a business owner to decide who they choose to do business with. Forcing someone to do it because you FEEL like EVERYONE should is not how America was founded. It was based on freedoms and rights. If you want to do business with gun owners only, do so, if you want to do business with gays and lesbians, do so. It does not stop people from doing those businesses. It just means people have the right to decide how to run THEIR business. WHY would you want to do business with someone who doesn't want to do business with you?
See, the perspective it what is important. Congress has the right to discuss and make changes for student loan forgiveness, but there are people in Congress blaming the Courts. They want to change the courts and they want to increase the courts. Just because they are not getting what they want. The courts are not rogue, they are following the Constitution. They are making those responsible, responsible and staying out of the way. The courts should NOT be running our lives, just guiding us to make sure we are all being treated fairly.
Perspective. There will people that are offended, but again, that is their perspective. We need to make sure we see ALL sides and come to the conclusion that we are in control of our thoughts and feelings and NOTHING anyone says should change that. Be strong, Stand in faith! Have PERSPECTIVE!
